Abstract

Salah satu masalah yang umum dihadapi oleh petani ternak tradisional rendahnya mutu pakan dengan kandungan zat nutrisi yang tidak dapat memenuhi kebutuhan hidup pokok, produksi dan reproduksi.  Perbaikan pakan dengan penambahan berbagai suplemen pada ternak kambing telah banyak dibuktikan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi reproduksi dan performans produksi Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui waktu pemberian pakan suplemen yang tepat selama kebuntingan. Induk kambing sebanyak 57 ekor dibagi ke dalam kelompok perlakuan. Kelompok I diberi pakan suplemen selama kebuntingan umur 0 bulan sampai 1 bulan.  Kelompok II diberi pakan suplemen selama kebuntingan umur 1 sampai 3 bulan Kelompok III sebelum dan setelah melahirkan (umur 1 sampai 5 bulan), kelompok IV kontrol tan pa pakan suplemen selama kebuntingan, kelompok V kontrol setelah melahirkan dan kelompok VI diberi suplemen setelah melahirkan. Suplemen yang digunakan berupa Urea molasses multinutrient. Hasil penelitian maka didapat : Pemberian pakan suplemen dapat meningkatkan pertambahan berat badan induk bunting maupun yang sudah melahirkan. Waktu yang optimum pemberian pakan suplemen pada induk bunting yaitu umur kebuntingan 0 sampai 1 bulan.

One of the common problems faced by traditional livestock farmers is the low quality of feed containing nutrients that cannot meet the basic needs of life, production and reproduction. Improvement of feed with the addition of various supplements in goats has been widely proven to increase reproductive efficiency and production performance. The aim of this study was to determine the right time of supplementary feeding during pregnancy. 57 goats were divided into treatment groups. Group I was given supplementary feed during pregnancy at the age of 0 months to 1 month. Group II was given supplemental feed during pregnancy aged 1 to 3 months. Group III was before and after delivery (aged 1 to 5 months), group IV was the control without supplementary feed during pregnancy, group V was the control after delivery and group VI was given supplementary feed after delivery. The supplement used is Urea molasses multinutrient. The results of the study obtained: Supplementary feeding can increase the weight gain of pregnant and postpartum mothers. The optimum time for giving supplementary feed to pregnant sows is 0 to 1 month of gestation.
