Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan implicit dan explicit bias berdasarkan perbedaan identitas Agama pada mahasiswa Islam dan Kristen di Kota Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimental dengan desain within subject design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu 120 mahasiswa, dengan jenis kelamin laki-laki = 25 (20.8%) perempuan = 95 (79.2%), mahasiswa Islam = 60 (50%) dan Kristen = 60 (50%). Pengukuran explicit bias menggunakan skala Religious Discrimination Scale (RDS) dan implicit bias menggunakan IAT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan implisit bias berdasarkan perbedaan agama (p<.05), dimana partisipan beragama Islam memiliki skor implicit bias yang lebih tinggi dibanding partisipan yang beragama Kristen. Pada data explicit bias menunjukkan adanya perbedaan berdasarkan perbedaan agama (p<.05) partisipan Bergama Kristen secara explicit lebih tinggi dalam menunjukkan kecenderungan prasangka. Perbedaan data skor implicit bias dan explicit bias berdasarkan agama juga menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan, namun pada partisipan beragama Kristen tidak ditemukan perbedaan, pembahasan mengenai determinasi identitas agama sebagai faktor dalam prasangka secara explicit dan implisit dibahas lebih jauh pada penelitian ini.
