Phubbing dalam Perspektif Orang Ketiga; Studi Eksperimental pada Pengguna Smartphone

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: 1) menguji perbedaan persepsi pengamat pada kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen, 2) melihat perbandingan empat kondisi stimulus perilaku Phubbing, 3) melihat pengaruh persepsi positif dan negatif pengamat terhadap kualitas hubungan yang dirasakan pengamat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuasi eksperimen dengan desain posttest only control groups. 110 mahasiswa menjadi partisipan penelitian (eksperimen=55, kontrol=55). Perilaku Phubbing dengan stimulus gambar menjadi bentuk perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan skor nilai persepsi pengamat dan kualitas hubungan pada kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen, dimana skor kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi (p<0.001), uji ANOVA menunjukkan mengamati stimulus perilaku Phubbing menyebabkan pengaruh yang kurang positif dan lebih negatif dibanding mengamati stimulus tanpa Phubbing. Sementara uji regresi menunjukkan persepsi positif dan negatif pengamat mempengaruhi kualitas hubungan yang dirasakan pengamat (p<0.001), Phubbing dalam perspektif orang ketiga menjadi temuan yang dibahas lebih lanjut pada penelitian ini.
